Batteries for transport vehicles that pay off.

We identify opportunities for cost-effective battery operation in rail vehicles and fixed traction equipment. We deliver a technology solution that optimizes the operating parameters you choose. Our own online monitoring of vehicle and onboard battery condition brings further energy savings.

What it is

Power systems that meet rail certification requirements.

Rail applications place specific demands on batteries and power systems for vibration resistance, temperature range, and electromagnetic compatibility, as set out in the EN 50155 standard. Solutions from general industry can't simply be carried over without modification and homologation.

We supply both vehicle and station systems and manage the complete homologation process, from design through testing to operational approval. Batteries and containers for public transport (trams, buses, trains) handle starting, power supply, and backup for onboard systems. Our offering also includes ultrasonic testing systems for battery condition diagnostics.

In addition to supply, we offer our own battery monitoring for ongoing diagnostics, service, cell stock, and operator training – on site or at our facility in Kralupy. Our customers and partners in the rail sector include Škoda Group (onboard batteries for trams in Mannheim, Heidelberg, Ludwigshafen, Bonn, and Kassel), Pragoimex, CZ Loko, České dráhy, DPOV, ČD Cargo, RegioJet, and LeoExpress.

EN 50155 certification

Solutions designed and homologated for vibration, temperature range, and EMC to the rail standard.

Starting and backup power

Batteries for starting, powering, and backing up onboard systems in trams, buses, and trains.

Ultrasonic diagnostics

Testing systems for ongoing battery condition checks in both vehicle and station operations.

An active player in the rail sector

We regularly take part in industry events such as Rail Business Days.

When you need it

Does this sound like you?

Typical situations in rail operations.

01

Modernizing locomotive starter batteries

You need a replacement that meets rail standards and homologation requirements.

02

Station backup power

Signaling and other critical station systems require certified backup power sources.

03

New rolling stock or modernization

Battery homologation is a required part of vehicle approval for operation.

04

Battery condition diagnostics

Ultrasonic testing systems detect cell degradation before it causes a failure in operation.

Lead-acid (PzV, PzS), NiCd, and lithium batteries, including block RAIL batteries and maintenance-free gel VRLA technology (Sonnenschein). We always choose the type based on the specific application, placement on the vehicle, and voltage requirements (12V, 24V, 110V).
Standardly EN 50155 and EN 50547, plus key rail-application standards: EN 45545-2 (fire safety), EN 61373 (shock and vibration), IEC 60254 (traction batteries), and IEC 60896 (sealed GEL batteries).
Gel VRLA technology eliminates regular servicing and electrolyte top-ups. High reliability, low self-discharge, and resistance to vibration and deep discharge also reduce failures and unplanned replacements, lowering total cost of ownership (TCO) over the vehicle's lifecycle.
